Rosenbaum personalizes this too much, and conflates loopy claims made on behalf of the Mayans with what they may actually have believed. Surely there's no need to fault them for our superstition? Here's someone with equal disdain for the dopey supposed prophecy but a lot more respect for Mayan calendar keeping skills.
